Sneak Peek Week! - Day 4

Fun, flirty, feminine - those are the words that come to mind when I look at this card. When I was starting it, there was no clear direction in my head of where it was going but I'm happy with the outcome.

So this card uses the new stamp set Create a Cupcake and the matching Build A Cupcake punch. YES! Cupcake punch. No more cutting out cute little cupcakes...hallelujah! I kept it simple but with fabulous little touches to punch it up. The polka dot embossing, tiny flower and pearl on the cupcake wrapper and the border punch all around the focal image all work together to dress it up.

Are you enjoying the little peeks so far? I have one more to show you tomorrow. Then my projects will be tackling the rather large undertaking of scrapbooking my New York photos. I'm actually really exciting about the prospect of finishing an album....the 'prospect' of it being the key word here! It's been ages since I posted any scrapbook pages though, so I want to show you what I'm working on.

Sneak Peek Week! - Day 3

Let's fast forward a little bit because I just want to show you these adorable little love notes made with only paper and rub ons, no stamping!

The Love Impressions specialty designer series paper is rocking my world right now! It reminds me of the hoodies and pants from the Aeropostale store. Very cool! I paired it with the matching rub ons to create these little 3x3 cards perfect for tucking into lunchboxes for your kids, jacket pockets for your significant other, or little gifts for friends.

I realize that Valentine's Day is still far away but they were too cute to keep tucked away that long! ;)

Lovin' the envelope? I cut a piece of the DSP to fit in the flap to make it coordinate with the card...fabulous!

Sneak Peek Week! - Day 2

I'm very excited about the card today. Nature Walk is probably one of my favourite new sets and it's so strange because it's completely not the kind of set I would normally choose. But different can be great!

The bird and flower are stamped on a piece of the designer series paper from the coordinating Botanical Gazette package, and the torn edge at the bottom is also from the same pack. This card is all about the details, from the French Script stamped onto the base (difficult to see in the picture), to the ribbon and paper tearing, and finally the button and sentiment stamped banner with pearls.

Okay, so let me stop for a second and say how much I love a new tool that I got, the colour spritzer. You must have this! Why I waited so long is a mystery, this is the coolest thing ever! I spritzed early espresso onto the image layer and it was THE perftect touch. Get ready to see a lot of cards that have been spritzed! ;)

Sneak Peek Week! - Day 1

Here we go! Get comfortable because you are in for a very special treat....little peeks of what is coming at ya in the new mini catalogue!

I didn't even know where to begin when selecting my stamp set for the first card, so I decided to use new paper and accessories instead. For those of you who know me, you konw I love me some accessories! And there is NO shortage in this mini....be still my heart! ;)

Without further ado let me present card #1:

This card features the new Springtime Vintage designer series paper. I loooove this paper! It says old Victorian home wallpaper and is so fabulous. Also, I've used the seam binding that we were introduced to in the Holiday Mini which has returned in even more new colours....woohoo! See those adorable little flowers? Love, love, love! They are so easy to stick on with glue dots and make the project just too cute!

The layout for this card is actually my take on today's Mojo Monday sketch which I've included for you here.

Getting excited? ME TOO!! Tomorrow will feature a new stamp set and even more gorgeous new paper.

Merry Mojo

Ready to mojo? This week gives you the option of round or square but I was in a square sort of mood. Remember, this is just a sketch to get you going and, as you can see by my card today, it doesn't have to look the same! I really had every intention of using stars and circles but after deciding on the Big on Christmas set went in a different direction.

Stampin' Tips:
  • Line art images like the ones in Big on Christmas are perfect for colouring with Stampin' Up's fabulous markers

  • Add dimension and interest with patterned paper and buttons

  • Making the bottom layer look like a wrapped Christmas gift adds a sweetness to this card.

Very Via!

I'm busy working on craft fair goodies for a show I have this coming Saturday and I am nowhere near organized enough! My stamp room is strewn with Christmas paper, static stricky strip pieces, dimensional backings and glitter....it's a disaster zone. But oh what fun I'm having, hehe!

Anyways, Josh and I love Starbucks. Random thought is what you're thinking I'm sure but hear me out. We hate instant coffee but Starbucks has these Via sticks that you mix with your hot water and you would NEVER know they are instant, they taste awesome! Now I would love to take credit for this idea but I have to say that it was Josh who said (having seen my tea bag holders), "Hey, you're stampy, you should make a little holder for this!" OMG. This is why I keep him around! So he bought me a box and I put it on my desk...and there it sat for over a week until I decided to get creative. And I did. Look:
Ahhh! It's so adorable it's killing me! After figuring out all the measurements I went a little overboard with the embellishments on this particular one, there are too many to even list! The sparkly embossed snowflakes are just so pretty in real life. The 'Merry Christmas' banner adds dimension to the project and the sponging and tiny pearl give it a really elegant feel. What a perfect little gift to give your coworkers this Christmas, eh? Here are two more that are a little more toned down so you could make lots of them quickly.
These little goodies are so easy to make but I will do a video tutorial for you so that you don't have to figure out all the dimensions on your own. It will post on Monday because I have to spend the remainder of this week getting everything finished up for the craft show. I'll share the things I'm making for the show with you over the next few days.

I Love To Stamp!

Welcome to the weekend! I had a fabulous time yesterday evening stamping away with a great group of ladies. The food was delicious, the cards were beautiful and the company was spectacular! Thank you to everyone who came out, I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did! If you weren't there, here is a picture of what you missed. Don't worry though, it will happen again....but you have to wait another year! :(

Now for more stamping. I have to tell you, I am sooo into my stamping right now. I mean, I always love it but sometimes it just gets so under my skin that I can't even leave my stampin' studio! That's where I am right now and I have tons of new cards, projects and scrapbook pages to show you.

Here is a card I made several days ago. I dusted off the Vintage Vogue set and quickly remembered why I bought it, it's just so darn purty! Notice the Certainly Celery funky shape that everything is layered onto? No, it's not a new die, it's just a tricked out Top Note! I'm filming a video on how to do this today and it will post on Monday. The video will teach you how to make this shape and also a medallion shape using your Top Note die. If you don't have this die yet then run, don't walk, to my website and get one for yourself because it really is the best die ever! This card has so much dimension to it in real life. I {heart} dimensionals!

Cutting and Creating and Cutting

The 2nd Annual Christmas Card Extravaganza is almost here and I am so excited! This is my favourite class of the year and I go all out for it!
This year my crafters will be making 20 cards in 5 different designs. Here is a sneak peek of 3 of the cards, I will show the other two after the class.

The reason I look forward to this so much is that it's the perfect jump start to getting into the holiday spirit! Food, friends, holiday music, stamping, socializing....how can it get any better?

I can't believe how close it is getting to Christmas! Skyeler has started reminding me almost everyday that he wants Santa to bring him the "real Woody just like Andy has". Christmas through the eyes of a child is so amazing!

So a question for all of you: When is it okay to put up the Christmas tree? I think it's too early but there are people with theirs up and tons of houses with lights already. What do you think?

50% OFF STARTER KIT! This offer is only available until November 30th...don't miss out! For only $107.50 this is a never before seen offer!

Pretty Mojo

I apologize for being a day late to Mojo but yesterday was spent in my stamp room rolling out some cards and recovering from a very full and fun weekend.

The sketch this week gave me a bit of a hard time. I knew the colours I wanted to use but couldn't quite get them to work with the pattern. In the end though, I was completely thrilled with the finished card. What do you think?

The colours are Tangerine Tango, Poppy Parade and Old Olive with some white thrown in and all layered on a Crumb Cake base. This combination came straight from my colour coach and I would have never put them together on my own! If you don't have the colour coach already, it's a really great investment.

Family Day!

I thought I'd share some photos of my babies today. I've had some requests to see some recent pictures so today seemed like a good day for it.

Here is my baby doll, Ashton. I can't believe he is already over 5 months old!

Here is my little monster, Calum - this boy is trouble with a capital 'T'!

And finally, here is Mr. Handsome himself, Skyeler!

So that's my family, thanks for letting me share them with you! It's wedding day tomorrow for my brother in law and his soon to be bride so we'll have a full weekend of festivities but I'll be back to Mojo with you again on Monday!
Have a fabulous weekend...hopefully one that includes some stamping!

Today is a good day!

I am off to the spa this morning for a pre-wedding relaxation time with the bride-to-be! On the agenda? A 1 hour massage (ahhh!), a manicure and pedicure and then full spa lunch. Be still my heart! Tending to three little boys and one big boy 7 days a week takes a toll and I am looking forward to this like you would not believe!

I wanted to leave you with a card though and this one is special. My chef brother in law has been staying with us (hence the extra 5 lbs I'm carrying around lately!) and he wanted to make a card for our cousin on her birthday.

Let me preface this by saying that I did nothing but show him how to use the tools he needed to make this card. The colours, design, layout, etc. were all his ideas! Check it out:

On the inside, he made this cool tag. We attached it to the card by just looping the linen thread around the vintage brad. This way, the recipient can take it off and keep it as a bookmark without ruining the card.

Is this boy talented or what?! I tried to tell him that there are other guys out there doing what I do and sign him up but he was unconvinced. ;)

Have a fantastic day!

Oh baby, let's Mojo!

Happy Monday everyone, I hope you had as fabulous a weekend as I did! Friday night I hosted a bachelorette party for my soon to be sister in law, went to bed and woke up 3 hours later to head off to the Stampin' Up! regionals in Hamilton. Had a BLAST there and then spent yesterday eating the most delicious cookies ever made thanks to my brother in law the chef. Then it was off to the rehearsal and delicious dinner for the wedding this weekend But wow, I am t-i-r-e-d today!

Anyways, on to the good stuff! It's Monday and that means I am forced to make a card by the time the day is over so here it is:

I have been wanting to use this new stamp set Baby Bundle ever since I got it but hadn't pulled it out yet so this seemed like the perfect opportunity. I love this sketch (as usual) and that always makes it so easy for the card to come together.

The base is Marina Mist cut at 5 1/2 x 11 to make a larger card than usual. I used Pear Pizzazz with the coordinating DSP and also Pretty In Pink for the layers. How totally adorable is that image?! Clear mount stamps make it super easy for you to line up all your images and get this collage of stamps that looks so amazing. I coloured the images with my Stampin' Write markers and I'm thrilled with the way it came out. The little hearts at the bottom were stamped and then punched out with small heart punch. I raised them up with dimensionals for some...well, dimension! :) The ribbon is Marina Mist and I 'heart' it so much!

Stamps: Baby Bundle (120576), Teeny Tiny Wishes (115370) Paper: Marina Mist (119682), Pear Pizzazz (119795), Pear Pizzazz DSP (117158), Pretty in Pink (100459) Ink: Stampin' Write Markers in Marina Mist (119679), Certainly Celery (105106), Pretty in Pink (100045) Cool Tools: Paper Piercer (116631), Mat Pack (105826), Small Heart punch (117193) Embellishments: 1 1/4" ribbon (119772)

**Want to save 20% on every order?** Join my team and become a Stampin' Up! demonstrator today! When you join before October 8 you will get a brand new stamp set from the Occasions Mini catalogue FREE! And if that wasn't enough, you'll also get this fabulous tote valued at $49.95 for FREE!
